Our kids or our guns? You decide which is more important.

Dr. Cindy Banyai

The Second Amendment has enshrined the rights of gun owners for centuries, and both sides need to respect that. However, the Constitution did not account for the invention of fast-moving, high powered weaponry. Our children shouldn’t have to worry about finding the best hiding places in their classrooms, our teachers shouldn’t have to worry about getting firearms training to protect them and their students from active shooters, and our society shouldn’t be living in constant fear of another attack. My focus isn’t talking away the guns of the average American, but preventing bad actors from gaining access to weapons that can be used to take a life. I want to increase backgrounds checks, support Red Flag laws, and install common sense gun reform that can be seen as sensible by all parties.
