Flip Florida Blue: New website gives Democratic candidates running for office in Florida resources

Dr. Cindy Banyai (D, FL19) launches free peer to peer network for candidates across Florida to support Democrats running in every district

Fort Myers, FL - Flip Florida Blue is new initiative to support Democrats across Florida. The initiative is led by a group of candidates running for office at various levels. Dr. Cindy Banyai, Congressional candidate for Florida 19, founded the group with a leadership team including Maureen Porras and Katherine Norman, candidates for Florida House of Representatives and Florida Senate respectively.

Flip Florida Blue is a free peer to peer network across Florida that allows candidates to share resources and provides a comprehensive list of Democrats running in every district. The goal of the network is to give candidates a place to share information and support each other to elect more Democrats and turn out the vote. Dr. Banyai states “Flip Florida Blue fills the need to know who is running where and how to contact them as Democratic candidates and activists work to support candidates across the state in their historic run contesting every race. The website and related social media will help to connect and amplify the voice of these candidates so we can more easily support one another. I’m so excited to expand and build our community of Democrats across the state!”

Dr. Cindy Banyai is a Democrat running for Florida Congressional District 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island. She is a mom of 3 native Floridians, a small business owner, and part of the faculty of Political Science and Public Administration at Florida Gulf Coast University. Dr. Banyai has been a decorated professional in the field of community development for almost 20 years, collaborating with nonprofits around the world on issues such as homelessness, children’s services, education, and sustainable development.
