FL19 Candidate Cindy Banyai Reacts to Formal Withdrawal from Paris Agreement

As the largest economy in the world, the United States has an obligation to be a leader on global issues. I am dismayed that the United States is walking away from its global leadership role on climate change and the Paris Agreement. Without a strong commitment from the United States to take measures to protect our environment, all areas of the world, including Southwest Florida, are more vulnerable to climate change catastrophes. There is still time for the US to step up, but it requires political will from our president and Congress. And if they don't do it, there is still time for the American people to get to the ballot box in 2020.
