Fort Myers, FL — April 28, 2020 — The Moms Demand Action group has just released their 2020 Gun Sense Candidate distinctions and Florida congressional hopeful Dr. Cindy Banyai has made the list.
Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. They believe in stronger gun laws and work to close the loopholes that jeopardize the safety of families.
As a single mother of three children Cindy knows the fear that parents face every day and she understands the importance and need for better gun safety. Banyai’s gun control plan is to craft bipartisan legislation on federal small arms regulation and join international safety efforts, such as the Arms Trade Treaty. Banyai stated that “with a topic as divisive as gun control it is more important than ever that we work with both parties to find solutions that work for everyone, while still keeping our communities, families, and children safe.”
As a 2020 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate, Banyai is more determined than ever to see meaningful change in gun laws. She stated that “common sense gun control should be a nonstarter. We need a federal moratorium on the production and import of high-powered and fast-firing weapons, we need more incentives for states to create local registration for gun ownership, and a voluntary buy-back program.”
