Congressional hopeful from Florida’s 19th district makes impressive grassroots showing in 1st Quarter
Fort Myers, FL — April 16, 2020 — With the first quarter FEC filings in, Dr. Cindy Banyai, Democrat for Florida’s 19th district, makes an impressive showing. First time candidate, Banyai, was “determined to run a campaign for the people of Southwest Florida”. During the first quarter Banyai raised over $17,500, from over 266 individual contributors. Since the start of the race Banyai has taken donations from over 500 contributors from across the country.
Banyai is a mother and small business owner from Southwest Florida who knows times are tough. Unlike other candidates in the Democratic and Republican primaries, she cannot afford to loan her campaign large sums of money. She has been relying on the generosity of people from across the country who believe in her and her platform.
Banyai said that “I am proud of what my team and I have been able to accomplish. Even in the midst of this global pandemic, we were able to continue reaching out to donors. I cannot thank these donors enough for believing in me and my campaign and donating during such uncertain times.” Since the start of the race, Banyai has been a grassroots candidate, taking no money from corporate PACs. Every dollar that Banyai has brought in is “someone who believes in me and my message.”
Dr. Banyai and her team will continue to push forward and gather support from within her district and from the country at large, now moving to digital campaigning through her podcast, virtual meetings, and social media.
