2020 Democratic Nominee for US House FL19 steps into the ring again to build on the growing discontentment of Republicans and to unseat Sedition Caucus member Byron Donalds
Fort Myers, FL – The 2020 Democratic Nominee for US House of Representatives Florida 19, Dr. Cindy Banyai, announces her second run for Congress to serve Southwest Florida. Today she filed to run for the seat in 2022.
Dr. Banyai states, “It would be my great honor to serve the people of Southwest Florida in Congress. We need someone who will work for our community, not participate in political charades that destabilize our country. If we want unity and a government that works, we need someone who will put the people first. I am proud to announce I am running for US House of Representatives Florida 19 again in 2022. Time to make Trump’s crony, Byron Donalds, a one-term Congressman.”
The mom and small business owner believes our country continues to be at risk while those who continue to peddle Trump’s lies for political gain remain in Congress. Byron Donalds was elected to represent Southwest Florida in Congress last fall. His first major vote in the House was to object to the presidential election certification based on claims that have been widely debunked and defeated in the courts. These actions have placed him in what some are calling the “Sedition Caucus” for participating in Trump’s political theater that in part inspired the insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6.
Dr. Banyai continues, “Trump’s big lie about our election has caused much damage to our country. It is imperative we tamp down all those who wish to see our country fall into the hands of a wannabe dictator who inspires insurrection against this land, its people, and our Constitution. Donalds ran on unwavering support for Trump and has demonstrated that is his priority in his early days in office, despite Trump’s incitement of the attack on the US Capitol. We need true servant leaders, not sycophants, and I am ready to serve.”
Dr. Cindy Banyai was the 2020 Democratic Nominee for US House of Representatives Florida 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island. She is a mom of 3 native Floridians and a small business owner. Dr. Banyai has been a decorated professional in the field of community development for almost 20 years, collaborating with nonprofits on issues such as homelessness, children’s services, education, and sustainable development. She has also researched and published extensively on good governance around the world. Dr. Banyai is continuing the fight for our water, our health, and our community. She believes we need to lift the voices of the people to be on the same level as politicians and CEOs and to create a country where the sun shines on everyone.
