Congressional candidate, Cindy Banyai, and Lee County Board of County Commissioners candidate, Rev. Juan A. Gonzalez, publicly endorse one another.
Fort Myers, FL - June 22, 2020 -- Dr. Banyai and Pastor Juan recently announced their public support for each other. Dr. Banyai explained her colleague “brings an unmatched commitment to the people of Lee County.” The candidates share similar values and hope to have the privilege of working together for the people of Southwest Florida.
Both candidates have extensive experience working as community development professionals. Dr. Banyai has worked with many nonprofits in Southwest Florida and is a skilled community organizer. Pastor Juan is also dedicated to the people of Lee County. He has developed community conflict resolutions, as well as worked hard to develop housing, urban planning, family and community improvement.
The candidates are also committed to dismantling racism. Both Banyai and Gonzalez are calling for serious reforms to policing at the local and federal level. Dr. Banyai’s most recent project included organizing a group of teens to protest in favor of Robert E. Lee’s statue removal from downtown Fort Myers.
The candidates have known each other for a long time and are excited to work together in the future for the people of Southwest Florida.
