Dr. Cindy Banyai for US House of Representatives FL-19 has been endorsed by leading expert in foreign policy
Fort Myers, FL - FL- 19 Congressional candidate Cindy Banyai has a background in international development and foreign policy, experience that is necessary to serve the people of the US and its global leadership. Her skills and experience have been recognized by leading foreign policy expert and Sanibel resident, Peter W. Galbraith. Today, Ambassador Galbraith announced his endorsement of Dr. Cindy Banyai in the race for US House 0f Representatives Florida 19.
Galbraith said “I am pleased to endorse Cindy Banyai for Congress. Much as some wish it weren’t so, we live in interconnected world. Indeed, the future of Southwest Florida will depend significantly on bringing the pandemic under control in the short term and boldly addressing the climate crisis in the long term. Neither can be solved except on a global scale. Cindy actually has a foreign policy plank in her platform and, in my conversations with her, I find her knowledgeable and energized about the challenges we face at home and around the world. We need her voice and energy in Congress.”

Peter W. Galbraith is an author, academic, commentator, politician, policy advisor, and former United States diplomat. He helped uncover Saddam Hussein's gassing of the Kurds in the 1980s. Galbraith served as the first U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, where he was co-mediator of the 1995 Erdut Agreement that ended the Croatian War of Independence. He served in East Timor's first transitional government, successfully negotiating the Timor Sea Treaty. Galbraith is a longtime advocate of the Kurdish people, helping to influence the drafting process of the Iraqi Constitution in 2005. In 2009, Galbraith was appointed United Nations' Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan, where he contributed to exposing the fraud that took place in the 2009 presidential election. Galbraith also served as a Democratic Vermont State Senator.
Dr. Cindy Banyai is a Democrat running for Florida Congressional District 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island.
